What does a typical day look like for you?
Every day is different! But generally, I focus on ensuring the smooth operation of the cement production process. This involves monitoring equipment, conducting quality control checks on raw materials and finished products, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
What are some of the biggest challenges you face in your role?
Maintaining consistent quality and efficiency in production is crucial. We deal with a lot of complex machinery, so staying ahead of potential problems and optimizing our processes are ongoing challenges.
What keeps you motivated?
I take pride in knowing that our work contributes to building infrastructure across Africa. Seeing the finished product used in development projects is rewarding. Also, the team at Dangote is fantastic - collaborative, supportive, and always pushing each other to learn and grow.
Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in engineering?
Absolutely! If you have a curious mind and enjoy problem-solving, engineering is a great field. Be prepared for hard work and continuous learning. The industry is constantly evolving, so staying up-to-date with new technologies is important.
