JOB TITLE – WAREHOUSE TALLY/LOGISTICS OFFICER

Logistics Department

Role Mission: To ensure the accurate recording, verification, reconciliation, and documentation of all inbound and outbound warehouse stock movements, while supporting efficient logistics operations, maintaining inventory data integrity, minimizing stock discrepancies and losses, and ensuring compliance with approved warehouse procedures, safety standards, and operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Record all inbound and outbound goods against supporting documents, including waybills, delivery notes, GRNs, and dispatch orders.
  • Verify quantities, batch numbers, and product details during receipt and dispatch.
  • Identify and report variances or damages immediately.
  • Maintain daily logs of warehouse stock movements.
  • File and organize documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Support cycle counts, spot checks, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Prevent stock losses, pilferage, and discrepancies.
  • Monitor truck turnaround times and escalate delays.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Experiences

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of numerical accuracy.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to accurately verify and reconcile physical stock against documented records.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and attention to operational controls.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and escalate issues promptly.
  • Good understanding of warehouse, inventory, tallying, and logistics processes.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to work with Microsoft Excel and other relevant systems.

Experience and Skills

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, stock control, tallying, weighbridge operations, inventory management, or logistics.
  • Practical experience in stock verification, documentation, reconciliation, and warehouse movement control will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
