Job Purpose:

The Electrical & Power Manager is accountable for the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of all High Voltage (HT) and Low Voltage (LT) electrical equipment, power generation/supply systems, and instrumentation within the facility.  He ensures an uninterrupted power supply, effective maintenance of all electrical systems, and smooth functioning of utility equipment across the PP woven sacks manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

1. Power & Electrical Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and monitor plant power distribution systems, HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, APFC panels, and power factor correction systems.
  • Optimize power usage to reduce energy consumption and operational costs.
  • Ensure reliable operation of UPS systems, VFDs, MCCs, and PCCs.

2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment across extrusion, lamination, circular looms, tapeline, printing, and stitching sections.
  • Troubleshoot electrical breakdowns to minimize machine stoppage time.
  • Maintain logs and reports for machine downtime and corrective actions.

3. Utility Management

  • Oversee DG sets, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and other utility systems.
  • Ensure availability of utilities to support continuous production.

4. New Projects & Installation

  • Lead installation and commissioning of new machines and electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers during project execution.
  • Evaluate electrical load requirements for plant expansions or modifications.

5. Safety, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all electrical systems comply with statutory regulations and industrial standards.
  • Implement electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and risk assessments.
  • Maintain documentation for inspections, audits, and compliance certifications.

6. Team Leadership

  • Manage and guide the electrical maintenance team (engineers, technicians, operators).
  • Conduct training on safe electrical practices and troubleshooting skills.
  • Evalutae teams performance and ensure skill development

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 - 15 years in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environmenta continuous process manufacturing environment. 
  • Added Advantage: Experience in plastics/PP woven sacks industry preferred. 

 

Competenceis:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (HT/LT).
  • Experience with PP woven sacks machinery (Extrusion/ Looms / Lamination / Printing).
  • Expertise in power management, energy conservation, and utility maintenance.
  • Problem-solving and quick decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, SCADA basics (added advantage).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of industrial power distribution (up to 33kV), motor control centers and thermal/heater control circuits.
