JOB SUMMARY 

The Export Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s export sales strategy across designated international markets, with a strong focus on Africa. The role ensures revenue growth, effective distributor management, regulatory compliance, and seamless execution of export sales operations while maintaining strong customer relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Market Development

  • Develop and implement export sales strategies to drive revenue growth across assigned African and international markets.

  • Identify new market opportunities, customers, and distribution channels to expand the company’s export footprint.

  • Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and pricing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Account & Distributor Management

  • Manage regional distributors and key export accounts, serving as the primary point of contact (SPOC) for assigned customers.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and partners.

  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts in line with company policies.

Sales Execution & Operations

  • Ensure readiness and coordination of customer offtake requirements.

  • Oversee execution of export sales from warehouse through to designated delivery points.

  • Collaborate with logistics, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and invoicing.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with cross-border trade laws, export regulations, and internal controls.

  • Oversee export documentation, including contracts, Incoterms, shipping documents, and customs requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to regional trade agreements such as AfCFTA and ECOWAS where applicable.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Achieve agreed sales volume, revenue, and profitability targets.

  • Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates.

  • Monitor market trends and customer feedback to improve service delivery and competitiveness.

 

Skills & Experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in export or industrial B2B sales, preferably within Africa.

  • Proven experience managing cross-border sales operations and distributor networks.

  • Demonstrated success in handling major accounts and complex export transactions.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong understanding of export processes, logistics, Incoterms, and export documentation.

  • Solid knowledge of regional trade agreements (AfCFTA, ECOWAS) and international trade compliance.

  • Strong negotiation, pricing, and commercial acumen.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multifunctional teams.

 

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Business, Marketing, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • Relevant professional certifications in sales, international trade, or logistics will be an added advantage.
