JOB ROLE: Project Director – EPC Industrial & Food Processing Plants
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Director is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale industrial and process facility projects, including flour mills, grain handling and storage systems, food processing plants, and industrial manufacturing facilities.
The role provides full lifecycle project leadership from initiation through planning, construction, commissioning, and final handover. The Project Director ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, contractual requirements, and company policies.
The role coordinates multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning functions while serving as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and coordinate project execution plans, including scope, schedules, deliverables, and EPCC activities.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient expenditure.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, while providing regular project updates.
- Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with designs, specifications, and project timelines.
- Oversee quality assurance and control, ensuring compliance with standards and implementing corrective actions where needed.
- Enforce HSE standards, promote safe working practices, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, maintaining risk registers and implementing mitigation measures.
- Lead commissioning and handover activities, ensuring systems meet design requirements and managing final project close-out.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Professional engineering or project management certifications are an added advantage.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, or industrial projects, with at least 7 years in a senior project management role.
- Proven experience delivering flour mills, grain handling and storage facilities, food processing plants, or industrial manufacturing projects.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial systems including grain silos, conveying, packaging, utilities, and mechanical/electrical/instrumentation/civil works.
- Understanding of food safety and quality standards, with ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong project management skills including planning, budgeting, cost control, contract administration, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities with strong integrity and accountability.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage complex projects, and deliver results within deadlines.
