JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for executing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities for the assigned discipline at the site, ensuring compliance with established standards and specifications. The role also involves providing accurate and reliable analytical support to plant operations through the effective implementation of laboratory procedures and quality standards, contributing to overall operational efficiency and business performance.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect received routine and product samples, and promptly communicate any abnormalities or non-receipt of samples to the Shift In-Charge.

  • Conduct accurate and reliable tests within defined precision limits, following approved methods and laboratory procedures.

  • Ensure strict adherence to standard test methods, work instructions, and quality system procedures.

  • Identify and report exceptions or deviations in test results for necessary action.

  • Initiate and communicate resampling or retesting requirements as needed.

  • Collect special or ad-hoc samples as directed.

  • Provide on-the-spot mitigation or corrective actions during emergencies under the guidance of the Section Head.

  • Manage product samples effectively, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and traceability.

  • Dispose of leftover or expired samples safely, in accordance with laboratory safety and environmental standards.

  • Calibrate laboratory instruments and standardize reagents as per defined schedules.

  • Ensure full compliance with all quality management system requirements.

  • Record and maintain test results accurately and in a timely manner in the raw data sheets or electronic systems.

  • Maintain the availability and readiness of analytical equipment, instruments, and glassware through proper cleaning and routine upkeep.

  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and safety within the laboratory environment.

  • Follow all applicable HSEF (Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire) procedures and practices.

  • Stay informed and comply with environmental, site-specific, statutory, and intellectual property (IP) regulations.

  • Handle chemicals, equipment, and tools strictly in accordance with safety norms and best practices.

  • Ensure safe working conditions at all times and promptly report unsafe acts or conditions.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or Industrial Chemistry from a recognized institution.

  • Experience: Fresh graduates with the above qualification may apply. Prior laboratory or industrial experience will be an added advantage.
