CMMS Coordinator (Computerized Maintenance Management System Coordinator)
Department: Engineering
Location: Apapa
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Head of Engineering

Job Summary

The CMMS Coordinator is responsible for the effective administration, accuracy, and continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The role ensures that all maintenance activities, asset data, work orders, reports, and documentation are accurately captured, monitored, and optimized to support efficient plant operations.
The CMMS Coordinator must possess strong knowledge of asset data management principles, data analysis, and modern office technologies to ensure up‑to‑date asset registry, timely corrective actions, and compliance with maintenance standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

CMMS Administration & Data Management

  • Manage and maintain the CMMS database, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of equipment, spare parts, work orders, PM schedules, and asset history.
  • Coordinate the resolution of CMMS application/database issues in collaboration with IT and Maintenance teams.
  • Maintain the asset registry including asset classes, categories, hierarchy, and ensure proper coding standards.
  • Perform data mining and generate insights to identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Review and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly CMMS reports; follow up with supervisors and field personnel to correct errors, close pending work orders, and improve data quality.

Maintenance Coordination & Tracking

  • Monitor and track all maintenance activities to ensure timely execution of planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Support effective plant maintenance by ensuring all maintenance jobs and activities are properly scheduled and documented.
  • Assemble, prepare, and submit concise written reports, logs, and maintenance records.
  • Ensure that proper documentation is maintained for every maintenance job carried out, including work orders, feedback forms, checklists, and spares usage.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities to enhance CMMS utilization and maintenance workflow efficiency.
  • Recommend improvements to asset management processes, maintenance procedures, and data capture methods.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance standards, safety procedures, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Provide CMMS training and support to maintenance staff and other system users.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper housekeeping within the CMMS workspace and documentation environment.
  • Support audits and provide maintenance data and reports as required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Engineering leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in CMMS administration, maintenance planning, asset management, or related roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Oracle EAM, MP2, Maximo, or similar is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of asset data management practices and maintenance planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
