Efficiency Engineer
JOB TITLE: EFFICIENCY ENGINEER
Job Summary
The Efficiency Engineer will be responsible for driving operational excellence and optimizing production processes within a large-scale sugar refining facility. This role focuses on improving capacity utilization, implementing process automation, executing capital projects, and providing technical input for feasibility studies. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in energy optimization, modern sugar refining technologies, and demonstrate strong leadership skills with a passion for manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the efficiency of sugar production processes and associated utilities.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor process improvement strategies across the refinery.
- Maintain and improve process efficiency parameters, with strong knowledge of pan boiling operations, in collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams.
- Analyze operational challenges and implement solutions to optimize equipment performance.
- Introduce automation measures to improve utilization of raw materials, energy, and other production inputs.
- Identify and eliminate bottleneck processes to ensure smooth refinery operations.
- Maintain production quality and quantity during plant expansion and construction phases.
- Drive energy conservation initiatives and implement energy efficiency programs.
- Review and enhance KPI monitoring systems to improve factory performance.
- Prepare and present daily/weekly efficiency reports to the General Manager, Refinery.
- Ensure plant efficiency meets agreed and approved standards.
- Oversee implementation of QMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHSAS, and other relevant management systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of 13 years’ experience in operations management within a sugar refinery (>0.5 MTPA capacity) or large-scale food processing plant.
- Proven experience managing major utilities such as boilers, captive power plants, water treatment, and effluent treatment systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in process automation and capital project implementation, including feasibility studies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering; MBA is an added advantage.
- Strong exposure to steam engineering and energy optimization.
- Proficiency in SAP (PM modules), process control systems, and project management tools.
- Ability to develop and apply innovative manufacturing methods.
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership capability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams and achieve organizational goals.
