MATERIAL MANAGEMENT DATA ANALYST

Material Management Data Analyst

Role Purpose

Ensure accurate, timely, and optimized management of materials (raw, packaging, spare parts, consumables) across Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc by driving inventory data integrity, planning and replenishment, stock analysis, and process compliance. The role supports service level to production & maintenance, minimizes stock‑outs and excess/obsolete inventory, and strengthens financial controls through robust Material Requirements Planning (MRP) usage and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

1) Inventory Planning & Control

  • Maintain item master data (classification, lead time, minImum/maximum, safety stock, reorder point) and ensure governance of material codes/cataloguing.
  • Run MRP cycles (in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning as applicable) and generate requisition proposals aligned to demand, lead time, and service level targets.
  • Perform cycle counts and support annual/biannual stock takes; reconcile variances and drive corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory health: stock‑outs, slow/non‑moving, excess, obsolete, and aging; propose disposition or re‑planning actions.

2) Demand, Usage & Forecasting

  • Analyze consumption trends for production materials and spare parts (by line/equipment) to refine forecast accuracy and safety stock.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Projects to align material plans to PM schedules, shutdowns/turnarounds, and capex work.
  • Track bill of materials (BOM) accuracy and recommend updates to reflect actual usage and engineering changes.

3) Data Integrity & Systems

  • Ensure clean master data and transaction discipline: Goods Received Note (GRN), put‑away, binning, issue, transfer, return, and reservation processes in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Build and maintain dashboards & reports (inventory value, turns, service level, stock‑out events, dead stock, supplier performance).
  • Partner with IT/Systems to improve barcode/RFID, bin‑location management, and scanning discipline on shop floor.

4) Financial & Compliance Controls

  • Support inventory valuation (moving average/standard cost), provisions for slow/obsolete stock, and audit readiness (internal/external).
  • Enforce Standard Operating Procedures, delegation of authority, 3‑way match (Purchase Orders (PO)–GRN–Invoice), segregation of duties, and PTW/LOTO discipline for maintenance material issues.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile GR/IR, price variances, and ensure month‑end close accuracy.

5) Vendor & Lead‑Time Performance

  • Track supplier OTIF (On‑Time In‑Full), lead times, and quality issues; provide insights to Procurement for expediting and vendor improvement.
  • Recommend VMI/consignment opportunities, localization for critical spares & consumables, and MOQ optimization to balance cost vs. availability.

6) Process Improvement & Projects

  • Drive Lean/Kaizen initiatives in store layout, binning, kitting, line‑side staging, and transactional speed/accuracy.
  • Support shutdown/turnaround material kitting, pre‑allocation, and rapid issue/return processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis for stock‑out and variance incidents; implement systemic fixes (data, process, training).

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Education

  • B.Sc./B.Eng. in Supply Chain, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Business, Accounting, or related field — required
  • Professional certifications (APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma) added advantage

Experience

  • 4–7+ years experience in materials/inventory management within manufacturing or process industries (FMCG, sugar, cement, chemicals, food & beverage).
  • Hands‑on use of ERP/CMMS (e.g., SAP) for MRP, item master, and warehouse transactions.
  • Exposure to maintenance materials/spares planning and shutdown/turnaround support is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong grasp of MRP/MPS, BOM, lead time modeling, safety stock/reorder point calculations, and ABC/XYZ analysis.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Analytics (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query), dashboarding, and data cleansing.
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes (put‑away, binning, kitting, FEFO/ FIFO), barcode/RFID, and cycle counting methodologies.
  • Understanding of costing/valuation, GR/IR, and audit/control requirements.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Detail‑oriented, disciplined, and highly data‑driven.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication across Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Finance.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with continuous improvement orientation.
  • High integrity and accountability.
