Job Summary
The Employee Relations Specialist supports the effective management of employee relations matters by promoting fair, consistent, and policy-compliant workplace practices. The role is responsible for supporting grievance management, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, employee engagement, and employee relations reporting while providing guidance to employees and line managers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and support the resolution of employee grievances, complaints, and workplace concerns in line with company policies and applicable requirements.
• Support disciplinary processes, including the preparation of queries, hearing documentation, panel reports, outcome letters, and related records.
• Conduct or support fair, objective, and confidential workplace investigations and prepare clear findings and recommendations.
• Provide guidance to employees and line managers on employee relations policies, procedures, and appropriate workplace conduct.
• Support mediation, conflict resolution, and other interventions aimed at maintaining constructive workplace relationships.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations case files, trackers, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor employee relations trends and prepare periodic reports, dashboards, and management updates on cases, risks, and outcomes.
• Support the review, development, and implementation of employee relations policies, standard operating procedures, and guidelines.
• Coordinate appeals, hearings, and other employee relations meetings, ensuring due process and fair hearing.
• Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, Security, HSE, and business leaders on employee relations matters.
• Support employee engagement, consultation, and communication initiatives that promote trust, respect, and workplace harmony.
• Assist with separation-related processes, including exit interviews, documentation, and identification of recurring employee concerns.
Key Requirements
Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, or related fields.
• Relevant professional certification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, mediation, or employment law is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in employee relations, human resources, industrial relations, workplace investigations, or related HR function.
Functional Competencies
• Good knowledge of employee relations principles, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and workplace investigation practices.
• Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and applicable employment requirements consistently.
• Strong written communication, report writing, documentation, and case management skills.
• Good interviewing, fact-finding, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capability.
• Sound judgement, objectivity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple sensitive cases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR information or case management systems
