Job Title: Business Planning & Performance Management Manager
Job Summary
The role is responsible for overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and performance analysis to drive strategic decision-making at Dangote Cement Plc. It ensures optimal management of financial resources, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with the company’s overall.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business planning guidelines and assumptions, providing strategic direction to budget holders.
- Lead the budgeting process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Conduct first-level reviews and validation of budget submissions, identifying key variances and ensuring data integrity.
- Consolidate and present the group budget pack for approval by senior leadership.
- Track budget performance, revenue, and expenditures, highlighting significant deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Conduct cash flow forecasting and debt optimization to enhance liquidity and financial efficiency.
- Drive internal and external benchmarking initiatives to assess performance against industry best practices.
- Analyze operational results across key business areas—Industrial Activities (Plants & Mines), Transport (Terrestrial & Maritime), Financial Performance (Financing & Transactional Costs), Tax Planning, and Back-Office Functions (Pan Africa).
- Prepare and review periodic and ad hoc business performance reports to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining accountability and internal controls.
- Oversee Related Party Reporting for Nigeria Plants, ensuring full compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Manage Transfer Pricing policies and documentation in line with local and international regulations.
- Support the rollout and implementation of a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) IT solution for enhanced business performance tracking.
- Bridge financial and sustainability-related performance reporting, aligning with global standards such as GRI, TCFD, and European Taxonomy.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to safeguard company assets and ensure long-term business sustainability.
Key Requirements
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Preferred Qualification:
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Finance, Economics, or Business Analytics) is highly desirable.
Professional Certifications: Essential:
- Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) certification
- Desirable Certification in Business Analytics or Data Analytics (e.g., CBAP, CFA-Financial Data Professional, FMVA)
KPIs
Minimum Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), business planning, performance management, or corporate finance within a large organization or multinational corporation.
- At least 5 years in a senior finance or strategy role with direct involvement in budgeting, financial reporting, and business performance management.
Industry Experience:
- Experience in the manufacturing, industrial, cement, or FMCG sector is highly desirable.
- Exposure to multi-country operations and group-level financial reporting is an advantage.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, variance reporting, and strategic planning.
- Experience in managing cash flow forecasting, debt optimization, and treasury operations.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing, related party reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with FP&A IT solutions, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and data analytics tools.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior management to drive business performance.
