Job Summary
Crafting and disseminating messages to key stakeholders, including media partners and the public; managing communication channels, producing content for internal communications, and building relationships to support DCT’s objectives and initiatives.
This highly motivated, organized and detailed-oriented member of the team will be responsible for monitoring all newspapers and social media platforms for mentions of Dangote Cement trucks, accidents, fatalities, or any related subject.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitor all newspapers and social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and online news websites) for mentions of Dangote Cement trucks, accidents, fatalities, or any related subject.
• Issue a daily report to management and relevant departments, highlighting any mentions of Dangote Cement and related incidents.
• Contact stakeholders, including Transport Leaders, Safety, Corporate Communications, Insurance, Security, Operations, Management.
• Provide relevant information and updates to stakeholders, ensuring prompt response and resolution to any incidents or issues.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to address any incidents.
• Maintain accurate records of all incidents, responses, and communications.
• Provide recommendations for improving media and social media monitoring processes and procedures
• Monitor media coverage, tracking mentions, trends, and providing regular reports and analysis.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives and campaigns, using metrics and analytics to measure reach, engagement, and impact, and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in media and social media monitoring
Academic/Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Familiarity with social media platforms and online news websites.
- Preferable fluency in other languages, like Hausa or Yoruba.
Work Experience
- 4-6 years of experience in media or social media monitoring.
- Track record of success in developing and implementing internal communication campaigns.

- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages tailored to different audiences and communication channels.
- Strong storytelling ability, with creativity and imagination to translate complex concepts and information into engaging narratives and content.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, email marketing software, and analytics tools.
- Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing priorities, crises, and opportunities, with a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
