The Administrative Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all administrative and general service functions within Dangote Cement Transport Ibese. The role ensures efficient support to transport operations by managing facilities, office administration, staff logistics, fleet support, documentation, vendor management, and cost optimization in line with DCT operational standards and Dangote Group policies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions across the DCT Ibese base and other operational sites.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce administrative policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Coordinate administrative staff activities, including clerical, security, cleaning, and facility support teams.
  • Ensure prompt provision of administrative support to the whole departments and units in the plant
  • Supervise the maintenance, repair, and utilization of company facilities, offices, and staff accommodations.
  • Ensure the availability of utilities (power, water, internet, etc.) and monitor service performance.
  • Coordinate staff movement logistics, including vehicles for official assignments, transport of tyres, and materials to DCT locations.
  • Oversee drivers assigned to administrative duties and ensure compliance with company driving standards.
  • Manage procurement of administrative items and consumables in collaboration with the Procurement Unit and within approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records of office inventory, materials issuance, and usage.
  • Ensure proper documentation and accountability for company assets and consumables.
  • Supervise and evaluate external service providers, contractors, and facility maintenance vendors.
  • Negotiate and review service contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and statutory requirements for all third-party engagements.
  • Manage employee welfare programs and ensure proper coordination of wellness initiatives across the organization.
  • Oversee the provision and timely distribution of staff uniforms in collaboration with HR and Procurement.
  • Coordinate long service awards, end-of-year parties, and other staff recognition or engagement programs.
  • Manage employee health and insurance programs, including Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) enrollment, updates, and complaint resolution.
  • Ensure proper administration of Group Life Insurance, National Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), and other statutory welfare schemes.
  • Support HR in addressing welfare-related issues and ensuring staff satisfaction and well-being.
  • Prepare and manage the administrative department’s annual budget.
  • Monitor expenditures and enforce cost control measures to achieve operational efficiency.
  • Generate and present periodic administrative reports and expenditure summaries to management.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role within manufacturing, logistics, or transport operations.
  • Professional qualification in HR Management e.g. professional in CIPM, SPHR will be added advantage
  • Proven experience in facility management, office administration, and vendor coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP tools.
