Control Supervisor

The Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day control tower operations to ensure real-time monitoring, compliance, productivity, and safe journey execution across the fleet. The role supports the Control Manager by coordinating Control Officers, validating operational data, resolving journey issues promptly, and ensuring adherence to company policies and transport regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of Control Officers within the control tower.

  • Ensure accurate real-time monitoring of fleet movements, routes, and driver behavior.

  • Validate trip records, journey logs, and telematics data for accuracy and compliance.

  • Track key operational metrics such as speed adherence, turnaround time, idle duration, and fuel usage.

  • Escalate incidents, non-compliance, and unsafe driving practices to the Control Manager promptly.

  • Provide immediate support to drivers and operations teams during journey disruptions or emergencies.

  • Conduct regular checks on tracking systems and dashboards to ensure uptime and reliable reporting.

  • Assist in generating daily and weekly control tower reports for management.

  • Coordinate the communication of route plans, schedules, and operational updates to drivers.

  • Support compliance checks on rest hours, route adherence, and journey management requirements.

  • Ensure proper documentation of all journey-related data and system updates.

  • Mentor Control Officers to strengthen data accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance enforcement.

  • Recommend improvements in operational control procedures and monitoring tools.

  • Participate in incident investigations by providing journey data and driver monitoring history.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet monitoring, journey management, or transport compliance roles, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and performance monitoring tools is an added advantage.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of journey management, fleet operations, and transport compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in telematics, GPS tracking, Power BI, or other dashboard and reporting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
