The Mechanical Engineer will ensure safe and reliable operation of CNG station equipment by handling preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for compressors, dispensers, storage cylinders, piping, valves, and other CNG station equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and operational guidelines.
- Monitor performance of compressors, pressure vessels, and auxiliary equipment, and recommend upgrades or improvements where necessary.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with electrical and instrumentation teams to resolve multidisciplinary technical issues.
- Supervise contractors and vendors during servicing, repairs, or equipment installation.
- Ensure spare parts availability by monitoring inventory levels and raising requisitions as needed.
- Train station operators and technicians on safe handling and operation of mechanical equipment.
- Enforce adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies, including emergency response protocols.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. COREN, or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
- Minimum of 6 years in maintenance and repair of CNG systems and heavy-duty equipment.
- Expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CNG systems; knowledge of inventory management, and compliance with industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple task.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to CNG operations.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and team coordination abilities.
