Job Summary
The Car AC Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automotive air conditioning systems across company vehicles. The role involves diagnosing faults, replacing components, and ensuring optimal AC performance while adhering to safety and quality standards.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of vehicle air conditioning systems.

  • Diagnose faults in car AC units, compressors, condensers, and evaporators using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Repair or replace defective components such as hoses, compressors, thermostats, and valves.

  • Recharge and recover refrigerants in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Install and commission new air conditioning systems in vehicles as required.

  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records for all AC-related work.

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company safety standards.

  • Support other mechanical maintenance activities when required.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Maintenance Engineer.


Education and Work Experience

  • Trade Test I or equivalent certification in Automotive Air Conditioning, Refrigeration.

  • National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive air conditioning systems.


Skills and Behaviours

  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude in automotive AC systems.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic and repair tools for vehicle air conditioning.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
