Job Description
The Manager, Electrical is responsible for overseeing all electrical maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability, safety, and performance across the plant. This role provides strategic direction for maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The incumbent will lead the electrical maintenance team, coordinate interdepartmental support, and drive the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage all electrical maintenance operations to ensure reliable plant performance and equipment availability.

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians to achieve maintenance goals efficiently.

  • Establish and monitor key maintenance performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.

  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring timely and effective execution.

  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in all maintenance activities, fully aligned with company HSE policies.

  • Review and approve maintenance plans, work orders, and technical reports generated through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance methods, tools, and technologies.

  • Coordinate with production and other departments to plan maintenance shutdowns and resolve recurring technical issues.

  • Raise material indents, monitor spare part usage, and ensure the availability of critical electrical components.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety legislation, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting complex electrical and automation issues.

  • Prepare periodic reports on maintenance activities, budgets, and project status for management review.


Requirements

Education and Experience

  • B.Sc. or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity within a heavy industrial or cement manufacturing environment.

Technical Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, industrial automation, and process control.

  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management.

  • Familiarity with cement manufacturing processes (preferred).

  • Sound knowledge of ISO 9000 standards, TPM, and relevant safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
