Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist with professional experience in local and international procurement. The successful candidate will act as a Category Buyer, responsible for managing sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and procurement operations across designated categories. This role requires strong professional qualifications and relevant certifications to ensure compliance, efficiency, and value creation in the procurement process.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned categories, covering both local and international markets.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.

Manage the full procurement cycle: requisition, tendering, evaluation, contract award, and supplier performance monitoring.

Conduct market research and benchmarking to anticipate trends, risks, and opportunities.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and applicable trade regulations.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs and project timelines.

Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards.

Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation for audit and performance review.

Support continuous improvement in procurement processes, systems, and supplier management practices.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, or related field.

Professional certification such as CIPS, ISM, PPAN, NPCP, CILPM, (Institute for Supply Management), or equivalent.

5–10 years of progressive procurement experience, with exposure to both local and international markets.

Proven expertise as a Category Buyer, managing diverse product/service categories.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.

Proficiency in procurement software/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Knowledge of import/export regulations and international trade practices.
