Senior Transport Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION (KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

1. Responsible for managing assets in such a way as to minimize operational costs while maximizing equipment utilization.
2. Supervise staff and monitor operations at key workstations, ensuring workload is completed to meet customer expectations: efficiently, safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
3. Plan with senior management to determine the strategic direction of the Transport Department.
4. Update and implement Divisional Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
5. Coordinate and inspect the complete documentation including drivers and vehicles licenses.
6. Review and report logistics/fleet performance against plans.
7. Build good working relationships with Regulatory Agencies to ensure smooth operation of the fleet.
8. Implement transportation strategies to optimize fleet operations, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
9. Supervise implementation and sustaining safety protocols, procedures, investigating accidents and incidences.

    10. Ensuring proper execution of Journey Management Plans (JMP) for all trips by conducting daily/weekly Safety Toolbox meetings and Stand-Downs for Drivers, including safety inspection and drivers logs and Driver’s compliance to Check Point Routine.

    11. Analyze data and make data-driven decisions to optimize fleet operations with performance metrics including route optimization and fuel management.

    12.Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, sales and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.

    13. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to Fleet Managers and Transportation staff.
