Production Section In-Charge

Execute actions as per directives of Head of Department in order to meet budgeted

production rates.

· Maintaining quality control standards and overseeing product inspections and implementing

process improvements to enhance efficiency.

· To take full responsibility of the Section in terms of management of staff, management of

production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes.

· To take full responsibility for product quality within the Section in line with the company’s

quality systems, processes and procedures.

· Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff and also providing necessary training to

enhance capabilities in performance.

· Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues.

· To ensure good communication either verbally or in writing with all members of staff.

· To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to, in that section

· Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can

identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems at hand.

· Work closely with other section Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective.

· To have an active role in the companies continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for

future growth within the company.

· Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.

· Responsible for ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best

operating costs.

· Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the company’s organizational

structure.

· Maintaining high level of timekeeping is of the essence.

· Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

 

 

Grade 12 School Certificate

· Degree in Chemical Engineering/Production Management

· Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (Professional Engineer)

· Registered Engineer (ERB)

· Previous experience in a Cement Industry desirable

· A minimum of Ten (10) years’ progressive work experience of which Three (3) years

should be at Production Shift In-Charge Level.

Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, and legislations

relating to the cement manufacturing industry.

· In-depth understanding of internal auditing standards, responsibilities, code of ethics, and

certification.

· Understanding of corporate governance principles.

· Familiarity with fraud risk indicators and investigation techniques.

· Good knowledge of Enterprise Resource Packages such as SAP

· Good communication, leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.

· Good data gathering, analysis and problem solving skills

· High ethical standards and integrity.

· Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
