Job Purpose:

 

To lead, manage, and optimize all electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems across the DPL production lines to ensure maximum machine uptime, safety, energy efficiency, and smooth production operations. Responsible for preventive & predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, automation improvements, and compliance with safety standards

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

1. Electrical Maintenance & Reliability

  • Oversee maintenance of electrical systems for extruders, circular looms, tape plants, lamination lines, printing machines, cutting & stitching units, and compressors.
  • Ensure uninterrupted power supply through effective management of HT/LT systems, DG sets, transformers, and electrical panels.
  • Lead troubleshooting of electrical breakdowns with minimum MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).
  • Establish and monitor preventive & predictive maintenance schedules (AMC management, calibration, etc.).

2. Electronics & Automation Systems

  • Manage PLC, HMI, SCADA systems across plant machinery.
  • Troubleshoot automation faults in extrusion lines, weaving machines, and lamination units.
  • Oversee VFDs, servo drives, sensors, load cells, proportional controls, temperature controllers, and process control systems.
  • Coordinate with machine OEMs for automation upgrades and technology improvements.

3. Instrumentation Management

  • Ensure calibration and functioning of temperature sensors, pressure gauges, flow meters, tension controllers, and other process instruments used in plastic extrusion and weaving.
  • Develop SOPs for instrumentation maintenance and calibration logs.

4. Project Management

  • Support installation, commissioning, and electrical instrumentation setup for new machinery or factory expansions.
  • Evaluate and implement energy-efficient solutions and electrical load planning.
  • Prepare technical documents, layouts, BOQs, and cost estimation for project execution.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, ISO, and local statutory regulations.
  • Conduct electrical safety audits, risk assessments, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and incident investigations.
  • Train the maintenance team on safety practices and SOP adherence.

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise a team of electricians, technicians, and instrumentation engineers.
  • Conduct skill development, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Utilities departments for smooth operations

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Minimum B.E / B. Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Instumentation Engineering (or relevant field).

  • Experience: Minimum of 8-15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; preference for PP woven sacks, plastics extrusion, or textile machinery.

  • Added Advantage: Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens/Allen Bradley/Delta), VFDs, SCADA, electrical panels, and industrial automation.

  • Experience with HT/LT systems, power distribution, and DG/transformer management.
