Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the complete weaving operations of PP woven sack fabric, ensuring optimal machine performance, production efficiency, fabric quality, and workforce productivity while maintaining safety.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

1. Production Planning & Control

  • Prepare daily/weekly production plans for looms based on sales orders and fabric requirements.
  • Allocate machines and manpower to meet the targeted output.
  • Monitor loom efficiency, downtime, and production losses; implement corrective actions.

2. Machine & Process Management

  • Ensure smooth operation of circular looms, tapeline parameters, and fabric specifications.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to plan preventive and breakdown maintenance of looms.
  • Optimize loom settings for maximum output and minimum wastage.
  • Maintain records of loom performance, stoppages, and mechanical issues.

3. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure the woven fabric meets quality standards: GSM, width, mesh, tape strength, color, and appearance.
  • Collaborate with QA to address fabric defects such as weaving faults, broken tapes, and uneven fabric.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives and reduce rejection rates.

4. Manpower Management

  • Supervise loom fitters, operators, helpers, and shift in-charge personnel.
  • Train and skill-upgrade the weaving workforce.
  • Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift scheduling.

5. Raw Material & Resource Management

  • Coordinate with the store/logistics teams to ensure availability of tapes, bobbins, and spare parts.
  • Monitor consumption of tapes/yarns and reduce wastage.
  • Maintain inventory of critical loom spares.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote good housekeeping (5S).
  • Regularly conduct safety meetings and enforce PPE usage.
  • Follow statutory and environmental guidelines related to manufacturing operations.

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Submit daily production, efficiency, wastage, and downtime reports.
  • Maintain records of loom load plans, fabric production, manpower deployment, and quality audits.
  • Participate in management review meetings.

 

 

Job Requirement:

 

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Education: Minimum Diploma / Degree in Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
  • Added Advantage: Technical Certificate
  • Experience: Minimum 5 - 10 years experience in PP woven fabric weaving operations.
  • Added Advantage: Prior experience in managing teams in a woven sacks manufacturing setup is preferred.

 

Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of circular looms (Lohia, Starlinger, BSW, GCL, etc.).
  • Understanding of PP/HDPE tapes, yarn properties, and weaving parameters.
  • Production planning and troubleshooting skills.
  • Team leadership and conflict management.
  • Data-driven mindset; proficiency in MS Office/ERP is an advantage.
  • quality-focused with strong attention to details.
