Job Summary
The Dangote Cement Transport is looking for a qualified and result-oriented professional to fill the position of Deputy Head of Finance. You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance in managing all financial activities related to the organization's operations. This role involves ensuring robust financial planning and management, effective budgeting, and compliance with accounting standards. You will also play a crucial role in financial reporting and strategic financial decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies that support business objectives.
- Oversee and manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
- Guiding financial decision-making by providing timely and relevant financial data and insights.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards including IFRS and local regulations.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis processes to support operational and strategic goals.
- Continuously monitor financial performance against budget and identify variances for corrective actions.
- Support the Head of Finance in managing relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop the finance team to enhance their skills, knowledge, and effectiveness.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
