Job Summary

As the Head of Pre-Trip Inspection at Dangote Cement Transport Obajana, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of pre-trip inspections for Trucks  and equipment within our operations.

Your role is critical in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of all vehicles before they embark on trips or assignments.

 

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage pre-trip inspection protocols and procedures.
  • Lead a team of inspectors in conducting thorough inspections of all Trucks and equipment.
  • Analyze inspection reports and address any issues or concerns identified.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Track and record inspection data for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Provide training and guidance to inspection team members.
  • Continuously improve inspection processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • BSc and MSc/MBA a relevant field (Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline); is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years cognate experience in logistics, transport operations, or related field, with significant years in leadership or managerial roles.
  • Prior experience in a top leadership role within the FRSC will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, distribution networks, and transport regulations in Nigeria.
  • Sound understanding of trucking safety standards, HSE requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proven leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) or equivalent professional body is required.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and external service providers.
