Production Manager

Job Summary

The Production Manager at Dangote Cement Plc leads and manages the Kiln operations to optimize production efficiency and quality of cement output.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning and development of a production strategy with tactical approach for DCP Obajana Plant to ensure safety of operations.
• Oversee the implementation of approved production strategy with respect to volume target in the plant.
• Ensuring the use of SOP to foster implementation of production processes and procedures to meet final product quality and achieve good efficiency level.
•  Manage daily Plant’s production plans, workforce and material requirement plans in line with DCP’s strategic intents.
• Demonstrate ownership and communicate the section’s strategic directions and objectives to all staff with respect to DCP’s aims, objectives and wholistic policies of the company.
• Coordinate and manage the production team to achieve daily production targets within specified quality level, budget and time.
• Identify weaknesses in the entire pyro process unit and following up with quality execution of refractory lining works in both the stationary and the rotary parts of the kiln, cooler, TAD, preheater cyclones etc.
• Prepare and provide sectional production reports and information to management to aid decision making.
• Supervise the implementation of approved recommendations such AFR installations, commissioning and operations of new equipment.
• Carry out other departmental responsibilities and jobs as assigned by the HOD such: training for human capital development, manpower rescheduling across all production lines, and light vehicles operational reliability/availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications will be an advantage.
• Minimum of fifteen years (15) years of experience in cement production, with at least 7 years in a supervisory role.
