Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Draughtsman at Dangote - Okpella Cement Limited to play a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of engineering drawings and technical plans that support the construction, maintenance, and optimization of cement plants and related infrastructure. The draughtsman works closely with engineers to ensure that all technical drawings adhere to industry standards and project requirements.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans for cement plant structures, machinery, piping, and other components using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
- Modify existing drawings based on engineering changes, project updates, or client feedback, ensuring all documentation remains current and accurate.
- Work closely with mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to interpret design concepts and translate them into detailed technical drawings.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary measurements and verify that project drawings align with actual site conditions.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation for easy retrieval and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality guidelines.
- Assist project managers and engineers with technical input during the planning and execution phases of projects
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Sectional Heads.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- First degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software and SolidWords or Revit is an added advantage
- Minimum of five (3) years of progressive experience in drafting within industrial or cement-related field.
Skills And Competencies
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical standards, and construction practices relevant to the cement industry.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to create and manage detailed spare parts drawings for machinery, plant layouts and infrastructure.
