Oil Man (6000TCD Mill Operation)

The Oil Man is responsible for the proper lubrication of all equipment and for supporting the efficient operation, maintenance, and general upkeep of mill house machinery, including milling drives, cane preparatory devices, and centrifugal pumps.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·       The role ensures smooth equipment performance, minimizes wear and tear, and contributes to reliable and continuous plant operation.

• Carry out daily lubrication of all moving and rotating parts as per the lubrication schedule.
• Monitor oil levels, temperature, and leakage in gearboxes, bearings, and pumps.
• Maintain proper records of lubrication activities and oil consumption.
• Support maintenance teams during shutdowns, inspections, and equipment overhauls.
• Ensure correct grade and quantity of lubricants are used as per manufacturer recommendations
• Report any abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, or leakage immediately to the shift engineer.
• Assist in cleaning of lubrication lines, filters, and oil tanks to ensure smooth oil circulation.
• Follow all safety protocols, housekeeping, and environmental guidelines while handling lubricants.
• Maintain adequate stock of lubricants and inform the supervisor in advance of any shortage.
• Contribute to the preventive maintenance program for mill house machinery.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• Minimum of TT1
• Minimum Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in lubrication, maintenance, and operation support in a Sugar Factory / Power Plant / Heavy Industrial Plant
